I never afk, its usually deathly at 1 defence, but I don't see the problem with it, and I also fail to see how Jagex can prove that your actually away from the PC, not just on another tab. True, staying afk for 10-15 minutes doesnt really affect anything, but its the 24-48 hour afkers that are ruining our runescape. They can do what they want with the failcasters, because that does give an advantage, so it's probably just to punish them, but leave everybody else alone.They are probably directing that towards some afk-magers who keep their computers on through the night while they are sleeping safe and sound. The only bonus to that is you will probably keep your sanity for longer then someone constantly monitoring their pixelated pal. It doesn't at all give you an advantage, because you are probably not going to be there if your objective changes and therefore react less quickly. Really, how is running to the bathroom or for a snack any different then switching tabs/windows? If they start banning people for that, then that's just ridiculous. Everyone can macro if they want to, but it's against the rules because it's gaining xp without playing the game, a.k.a. Even if everyone could do it, it's still gaining xp without even playing the game, which is the same as macroing. For example, I have to turn the computer off every night so my parents can save on their electricity bill.

It never has been, and nothing's changed. Someone leaving their account logged in to go to the bathroom shouldn't be bannable, and I don't think it is.
In the case of the armor, they probably had it anyway. They worked to be able to have the armor or runes, not to be AFK. These are just a couple of examples of AFKer's and they worked to be able to AFK and they don't have anykind of advanage over other players, so i don't get why people complain about it.Īnd as many people here are saying, this rule is quite stupid and shouldn't be bannable. These "fail-casters" bought/made their runes by working, they should be able to do what ever they want with those runes.ĪFKer's at bandits bought their armour/Guthan's with hard work, they should be able to do whatever they want.
